Re: what potentiometer value (10k Ohms ?) for dimming MIP-screens ?

Hi all, what Ohm value is the "best" for the potis dimming the MIP-screens ? Is it more or less 10 kOhm ? I connected a 10 K poti for testing and i cannot dimm the screen totally "dark"... just nearly dark. So, is a 20K Poti (or even more) needed to get the screen dark ? Hi, I think this is normal ...

Re: Connecting panel brightness knobs to lights

Hi Graham Thanks for the quick reply. Great video - thanks for that. So the controls are as I thought. Re the dimmer, just to clarify then, you open up the dimming unit which you buy from ebay, and then take the cables (by extending them) to the pots in your sim, so that the actual dimming switch i...

Re: Losing my pots! Need general help please.....

Oh, one other question: It's ok to run the Leo Bodnar card through a powered USB hub, right? I don't think I have many spare USB ports left on the PC itself, so I prefer to run it through the powered hub if that doesn't cause any issues... Hi sunny, Yes no problem running connected to a powered hub...

Re: Losing my pots! Need general help please.....

Hi Graham Thanks for the reply. Yikes, those fire ants sound awful. I'm sure I don't have that. Just maybe the odd stray ant wandering around the cockpit floor... Interesting that you say the CAT 6 cabling is ok. It's really weird. As I said, I put the thicker wires which were already wired to the ...

Re: Losing my pots! Need general help please.....

Hey Guys I need some general electronics help please, as I am a novice with all this stuff, and I am pulling my hair out. The issue is that recently, I started to lose my potentiometers, one by one. By "lose", I mean that they would start jumping from full minus value to full plus value, or only wo...
